Whitney Houston, an American legend, has tragically died at the age of forty-eight. Whitney was a true superstar of both music and film, and will be remembered as one of the greatest voices of a generation, if not all time.
The cause of her death has not yet been confirmed. As the news has spread throughout the music community, currently gathered in Los Angeles for tomorrow’s Grammy Awards, many spoke out about the loss of their friend or inspiration.
Heartbroken and in tears over the shocking death of my friend, the incomparable Ms. Whitney Houston.

I am personally shocked and saddened tonight, like many of us are. As a child of the 1980s, I grew up with Whitney’s music as a soundtrack to my life. Quite fittingly, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” was the number one song on the Billboard charts on the day I was born. She sang some of the greatest songs of all time, and was certainly one of the best and most treasured vocalists to ever make a record. I will always remember that voice. Rest in peace, Whitney. You will be missed by us all.
